Mario Parker of Bloomberg News wrote:(Bloomberg) -- President Donald Trump was unsure he would win re-election until recently, he told his campaign staff on a conference call Monday.

Trump Was Unsure of Victory Until Recently, He Tells Staff BB1abblr

“We’re going to win,” he said in a call the campaign invited reporters to join. “I wouldn’t have told you that maybe two or three weeks ago.”

The president’s declaration follows a collapse in his support in public opinion polls since his first debate with Joe Biden and his hospitalization for COVID-19. A six-point average lead for Biden at the end of September has grown to about 9 points as of Monday, according to RealClearPolitics.

The former vice president also leads in polls of many battleground states, albeit by narrower margins.

Trump singled out a Michigan poll last week by a Republican firm, Trafalgar, that showed him ahead in the state -- an outlier among Michigan polls -- and asked his campaign manager, Bill Stepien, “are we still up, Bill, or what?”

Stepien replied that Trump is ahead of where Democrats want him to be.

“As of today this is the single best I have ever been in any campaign,” Trump said. “The first one I was losing until the last day.”

When you're doing your job and doing it well, you're rewarded.  If not, just like in all reality shows (something you're familiar with, Mr. Trump), you're voted out.  Now think about this lineup: Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.  What do they have in common?  Two Terms as President of the United States.  Why?  The voters rewarded them for doing their jobs to the best of their respective abilities.  Meaning, they took responsibility for everything that goes right or wrong with the United States.  They knew how to talk to the American people to calm fears, and are well respected on the world's stage.  When tragedy strikes, they knew exactly what to say and they showed empathy for their fellow Americans.  Now watch this.  George H. W. Bush, God bless him, he was not rewarded in this manner, but he was and is more respected. Why is this?  Mr. Bush, like his son later and his boss before him, knew how to reach the American people.

You, Mr. Trump worry and continue to worry about appealing to your base, your "fans".  You're looking to appease those who support you in the "Red States"  Newsflash: You are (at the moment) the President of the United States.  Therefore, it is up to you to do the one thing that you haven't even attempted to do and that is unite this country.  The only reason I don't see this happening is because it's you.  When you claim to "lead", you lead alright.  You lead with your ego.  When things go wrong (and they have), you blame everybody else and take zero responsibility for it.  Before you became President, you once said that the responsibility comes from the top.  This was during a government shutdown during the Obama Administration.  Here we are years later, and here's the damage report:

-- Civil Unrest throughout the country
-- 223,000+ dead from COVID-19 (as of this post)
    -- Economy going crazy
    -- Unemployment at 7.9%
-- Wildfires raging out of control in the West
    -- Denial of Climate Change
-- Denies science in regard to COVID-19 (despite you, your wife and your son being diagnosed with it)

Now, If I were to lay all this out on a silver platter for you, you'd say it's Democrats fault for the Civil unrest.  You'd say we're turning the corner on COVID-19, we have the best economy in the world right now, we need to "clean our floors" to prevent wildfires, climate change is a "hoax", and you're immune to COVID-19, or as you have been calling it, the "China Virus".  No, that's not you taking responsibility.  That's you passing the buck whereas a previous President (more respected than you have ever been) made it a point to have a sign on his desk saying...

That's the way a President should be.  You, Mr. Trump, have shown us that you are nowhere near this mold of Harry S. Truman.  At least he took responsibility over everything good or bad with this country.  You like to take victory laps off the back of others hard work when things are good, and pass the buck on to someone else when things are bad.  On top of that, you are insulting to those who disagree with you, and you can't take any amount of criticism like a man.  You tend to act like a petulent child in a grown man's body.

It's time for change, because four more years of you will finish what you have already began doing... destroying this ONCE great nation piece by piece.

    Just Saying.
