The Final Free Byte of 2018
2 posters

Hey guys, just dropping a line or two not only to wish you all a very Merry and Joyous Christmas and a prosperous 2019. As I look back at 2018, I've seen a lot of things changing, and not necessarily for the better. I pray that 2019 will bring about a change for the better and I pray that in 2019, as I have stated before, we, as a nation, can learn to laugh again.
Why do I bring laughing up in this edition of Free Byte? Only this simple reason. In 2018, we got offended over some of the most simplest of things: a difference of opinion. We got offended over... well... just about anything these days. We can't talk, we can't react, if we even think differently than those we are having a conversation with, we get offended. We can't watch Late Night Comedians like Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon without getting offended over what they may say about (and in most cases against) President Donald Trump. Heck, I get a kick out of Saturday Night Live, but now, it's offensive to some because of some skits and parodies of Trump and his Administration. It's offensive to some, including Donald Trump himself.
It's maddening to me how offended we get, and how quickly we get offended. Like I said before in a previous post, I want to see America Laugh more. In fact, like I said, we should strive in 2019 to Make America Laugh Again.
One can only hope.
Until then, I wish you and your a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yeah, I have to agree there. There are some politicians I like and some I don't, but I won't get offended when people make fun of the ones I like. (Are the portrayals exaggerated and unrealistic? Yes, but that's kind of the point: it's being done for comedic effect!)
Anyway, I hope everyone had a merry Christmas in 2018, and I wish you all a happy 2019

Exactly my point. And it doesn't just apply to comedy. It applies to most everything. We couldn't go a day this year without being offended by something said or done that was different than what we believe in.
