Missing Alabama Girl Amberly Barnett Found Dead (FULL ARTICLE)

Alabama authorities said the body of missing 11-year-old Amberly Barnett was found Saturday after an overnight search.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department is withholding information regarding cause of death and how she was found until it concludes its investigation.

Amberly went missing shortly from after 6 p.m. on Friday. According to police, she was last seen at her aunt’s home in the northeastern town of Collinsville and a dark-colored SUV was reported in the area around the same time.

“At approximately 6:30 a.m. this morning, the deceased body of 11-year-old Amberly Alexis Barnett was located,” Sheriff Nick Welden said Saturday during a press conference. “Due to the current investigation, we are limited on the information that we are able to release.”

“I can tell you that we are diligently, diligently pursuing different avenues, and Lord willing, we will have answers in the coming days. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers as we move forward in this tragic event.”
